The members of the Siuslaw Fisherman's Association are very excited. The state-of-the-art Ice House has arrived in Florence and will soon be installed on the Old Town Wharf. If you're a boater or aviation enthusiast, there's a good chance you already know of the potential damage to your boat or airplane engines if you use blended gasoline (with ethanol or E-10). Earlier this year, the legislature passed a bill (SB1079) that exempts boats, aircraft, ATVs, snowmobiles, yard equipment, antique and racing vehicles from using blended fuel. However, the real issue is finding retailers or distributors who sell non-blended gasoline. Read more?

The state of Oregon is inviting members of the public to propose possible sites for marine reserve along the Oregon coastal waters, or adjacent rocky intertidal areas, protected from development or extractive activities, including fishing. Read more?
