The Floating Restroom aka “Relief Station” was put in the river and attached to the pilings on Thursday, July 12.   The name “Relief Station” was the winning name, picked from a contest of 138 entries.  The floating restroom is a 24′ x 12′ barge with two stainless steel flush toilets.  The “Station” was completely funded by the Oregon State Marine Board through state and federal grants.  It will be in the water July through October during the fishing season.  The goal of having a floating restroom will improve the quality of water in the Siuslaw River to protect and enhance fish populations.
