Notice of Increased Construction Noise
Legacy Contracting, Inc. is providing notice to the public that pile driving will be occurring starting December 13, 2012, through February 15, 2013 for the Port of Siuslaw Wharf Improvement Project. The piling will be initially driven with a vibro hammer which will produce limited amount of noise. After the piles are driven a portion will be proofed with a diesel hammer to verify bearing. This process will produce the most amount of noise and is estimated to take about 15 minutes per pile. The amount of noise generated during this process is approximately 200 decibels.
The piling will be installed starting Thursday, 13 December through 15 February. The actual placement will vary with the tides and weather conditions. It is anticipated that all piling will be installed between the hours of 6:00am and 7:00pm.
The remainder of the work will have minimal noise impact and will be ongoing from December 2012 through the end of March 2013. Legacy Contracting and the Port of Siuslaw appreciate your understanding during this process.
