Festival Events: 

• The Davis Carnival will again operating in the Nopal Street parking lot at the Port from Wednesday, 16 May to Sunday 20 May. 
• The Florence Area Chamber of Commerce is operating a Festival Vendor Market on Maple Street in Historic Old Town, between Bay Street and First Street. 
• The Chamber will also be providing picnic tables and and an open area to catch your breath between events on the grass next to the Port’s boardwalk. 
• West Lane Emergency Operations Group and Oregon Department of Transportation will be hosting a booth at the Port office at the corner of Bay Street and Nopal Street to share information on disaster preparedness and pedestrian/bicycle safety. 
• Florence United Methodist Church will also have a prayer booth in front of the Port office on Nopal Street. 
• The Queen Rhododendron Pageant will be at the Florence Events Center on Friday, 18 May. 
• The Grand Floral Parade will be at noon on Sunday, 20 May.

               Lane County Marine Patrol has partnered with Bi-Mart stores in Lane County for free boat inspections, each Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm.
           When your boat is being inspected, law enforcement will look for proper equipment, make suggestions and answer any boating safety or local information questions. It’s a great opportunity to meet your local marine patrol deputies.
           After passing the examination, boaters receive an inspection decal -recognized by other law enforcement, as having met all the education and equipment requirements for safe operation.             Boaters can bring their trailerable boats to the following Bi-Mart locations and dates:
* May 12, River Road Bi-Mart in Eugene
* May 19, Veneta
* May 26, Florence

            After passing the examination, boaters receive an inspection decal, recognized by other marine deputies, as having met all the education and equipment carriage requirements for safe operation.  Boaters will not be stopped for the remainder of the year for a compliance check.

One hour historic, scenic river tours are available Fridays through Mondays, and two hour dinner cruises on Sundays.  Dinners will be provided by Kelly’s Cantina.  Please call for reservations on other days of the week or for special groups.

The new office is installed and ready to move in.  We are finishing up landscaping and a few other details. This new building will house both the Campground staff as well as the Bay Street office staff, consolidating Port operations into one convenient location.  If all goes according to schedule, Campground office staff and the Bay Street office staff (Port Manager and Administrative Assistant) will be operational in the new office building before Rhody Fest.
