Bid Doc #s 1-5 w Drawings Specifications (002)

Addendum

“Schedule Change, Addenda, Errata & Clarifications

As a result of discussions with qualified bidders, the following addenda and clarifications are provided:

  • More detail RE rock quantity was requested. The rock may be bid as cubic yards or tons. The tonnage  enlisted in the RFP assumes a cy-tonnage conversion factor of 1.6. However, cubic yards may be used alone as long as the rock is approved. The rock used  is approved if it satisfies the following, or equivalent: that found within AASHTO 85 (Apparent specific gravity, percent absorption); ODOT TM 208A (degradation); and AASHTO T 104 (soundness). All rock specified in this project must be angular in shape, and the thickness of any single rock shall not be less than one third of its length. Round rock will not be accepted unless authorized by the engineer-of-record. The rock must meet the gradation requirements for the class specified, be free from overburden, spoiled, shale and organic material. Non-durable rock, shale or rock with shale seams is not acceptable.
  • More detail RE fabric to be used was requested.  An 8oz., non-woven fabric is suggested.
  • Since there is a note on the RFP plan view drawing attachment stating “ See Vegetation Plan”, where is the Plan and what action is requested?  The drawing note in the RFP drawing attachment plan view that states “See Vegetation Plan” may be misleading. There are no tasks in the RFP regarding vegetative planting.
  • Is staking required by the bidder to delineate the repair location?  The RFP does not enlist or require pre-construction staking. This work will be accomplished by the Port of Siuslaw.

The following errata is corrected:

  • The units for the quantity of fabric is mislabeled. The RFP requests 6000 sy (square yards). The correct unit is sf (square feet).

Bid Deadline Extended: Since the above Addenda, Errata and Clarifications have been introduced into the RFP, the bid deadline has been extended from Friday, October 19th, to Wednesday, October 24th, 2018.

“Revision-Referring to Bid Doc #4, Page 1 (Bid Sheet), please do not use Items 6 (Base Rock) and 8 (Overage). Just leave these two items blank. As seen in the drawings, wall construction materials specified do not include base rock. Any overage encountered due to discovery will be handled via change order mechanism.”
